How it works

Between two systems on the same datum, the calculation is exact to the millimetre. With an old datum and no official grid, the error can reach a metre, and we say so.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files sent to a server?

No. The file is read and converted by your browser, on your computer. No point and no coordinate is sent to TopoTeam.

What format should my point file have?

One line per point with at least X and Y, and ideally the point number, elevation and code. Comma, semicolon or tab separator. Excel decimal commas are accepted.

Which software opens the DXF?

The DXF uses the R12 format, read by AutoCAD, BricsCAD, DraftSight, QGIS and most CAD software. The SCR script can be pasted into the AutoCAD command line.

How do field codes become layers?

Each distinct code creates a layer with the same name. Point number, elevation and code are written on separate label layers, which you can rename.

Is it really free?

Yes. The current tools are and will remain free, with no point limit and no sign-up.
